Cardiovascular Step-Down Unit (CSSU) | Travel RN | Portsmouth, NH

This 13-week night shift contract (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) places you in a specialized Cardiovascular/Vascular Step-Down Unit focused on high-acuity cardiac and surgical patients. The unit is supported by a dedicated mobility team and continuous central monitoring.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week (12 shifts/month); 36 guaranteed hours
• 4 weekend shifts per month
• Travelers float first on a rotation basis

Clinical Scope & Patient Population

• Cardiovascular and vascular surgery specialty
• Procedures include temporary pacing, pre-op prep for cardiovascular surgery, chest tube removal, and arterial line removal
• LNA support available each shift

Required Skills

• Strong telemetry skills
• Experience titrating vasoactive medications (levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, dobutamine)
• Chest tube management

Preferred Skills

• Arterial line management
• Flo-Trac monitoring
• Temporary pacing experience

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• Current RN license (or eligibility in New Hampshire)
