Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry

Position Details

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, every other weekend

Contract: 13 weeks

Guaranteed hours: 36 per week

Location: Des Moines, IA

About the Role

You'll provide direct patient care across multiple med/surg units in a fast-paced hospital environment. This is a float position — you'll rotate among ortho, general med/surg, neurology step-down, oncology, surgical telemetry, and med/surg telemetry floors. You must be flexible and comfortable adapting to different patient populations and acuity levels. Float assignments may also include the WestLakes Campus location.

What We're Looking For

• Current RN license (verification required)
• Ability to work night shift and every-other-weekend schedule
• Willingness to float across multiple specialty units
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
• Experience with telemetry monitoring preferred

Onboarding Requirements

Standard health screening, background check, vaccinations (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella), TB testing (2-step PPD or IGRA), and drug screening will be completed during onboarding. Specialty competency testing required before assignment.
