Dialysis RN — Travel Contract | Rochester, NY

This travel position supports a dialysis program serving both acute inpatient and chronic outpatient populations. The role requires strong independent clinical judgment and the ability to manage a full spectrum of dialysis-related care.

Schedule & Hours

• Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM–6:00 PM (combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts totaling 40 guaranteed hours/week)
• Rotating Saturdays, 5:30 AM–6:00 PM (8 or 12 hours based on departmental need)
• On-call coverage possible: M–F 6:00 PM–6:00 AM; weekends Saturday 6:00 PM through Monday 6:00 AM

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 28, 2026
• Float: Required — all other dialysis locations within the system

Clinical Scope

• Acute inpatient and chronic outpatient hemodialysis
• Cannulation of AV grafts and AV fistulas; tunneled and non-tunneled catheter management
• Administration of blood and blood products
• Dialysate conductivity testing and alarm management (venous/arterial pressure, blood leak, ultrafiltration, conductivity, temperature)
• Recognition and management of complications: hypotension, hyperkalemia, hemolysis, disequilibrium syndrome, fluid overload, cardiac arrest, seizures, pyrogenic reactions, and more
• Post-treatment access care and sterilization procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of dialysis experience; acute and outpatient experience preferred
• Active NY RN license required prior to submission
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency with electronic health records required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers accepted
