NICU Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join the NICU on a 12-week travel assignment. You'll provide specialized respiratory care to neonatal patients, managing mechanical ventilation, airway support, and weaning protocols in a fast-paced, evidence-based environment.

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts)
  • Weekends: Every other weekend
  • Call: None
  • Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Start Date: September 21, 2026
  • Contract Length: 12 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year respiratory therapy experience (first-time travelers welcome)
  • Current RN/Respiratory Therapist licensure (GA or Compact license required at submission)
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP, RRT, PALS
  • Note: CRT certification not required for this position

Clinical Scope

You'll manage neonatal patients requiring:

  • Mechanical ventilation and weaning protocols
  • Intubation assistance and extubation support
  • Airway placements (nasal and oral)
  • Tracheostomy care and management
  • High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy
  • CPAP/BiPAP initiation and troubleshooting
  • Suctioning and specimen collection

Onboarding

  • Full compliance required prior to start date
  • All documentation due the Tuesday before your first shift
  • Orientation includes facility-specific modules (hours vary by contract length)

Important Notes

  • RTO must be finalized at time of submission; no requests accepted post-offer or during orientation week
  • If major holidays fall within your assignment, you may be required to work them
  • Maximum 7 days RTO per contract
