Respiratory Therapist – Critical Care

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for its critical care unit serving neonates, infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This is a night shift role in a fast-paced environment where you'll manage complex respiratory cases and collaborate closely with nursing and interdisciplinary teams.

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: Night 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Duration: 12-week contract
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
  • Call: None
  • Float: Within facility scope of practice as needed

Clinical Scope

You'll provide respiratory care across multiple patient populations, including:

  • Mechanical ventilation management (SIMV, IMV, oscillating ventilators, high-frequency oscillators)
  • Intubation assistance and extubation support
  • Aerosol therapy setup and tracheostomy care
  • High-flow nasal cannula, CPAP, BiPAP management
  • Arterial blood gas collection and interpretation
  • Bronchoscopy assistance
  • Pulmonary hygiene and chest physiotherapy

Requirements

  • Current RN or Compact license (GA)
  • Minimum 2 years experience (first-time travelers accepted)
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT
  • Full compliance required prior to start

Time Off

  • Maximum 7 days preferred time off; must be finalized at submission
  • No RTO requests during orientation week
  • Holiday work expectations apply per facility policy
