Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN — Travel Contract
Lubbock, TX | Nights | 13 Weeks
This travel RN opportunity is on a general Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric patients. The unit manages a broad range of acute care diagnoses and maintains active interdisciplinary collaboration with physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3×12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Float required to other acute care departments within the facility; refusal to float may affect guaranteed hours
- On-call: not required; low-census call-ins are possible
Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Holiday commitment: must work 3 of 5 (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
Required Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Required Clinical Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Central line and PICC line care, peripheral IV placement and management
- Heparin and IV insulin protocols
- Blood product administration
- High-flow nasal cannula and oxygen administration
- PCA management, feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac
- Isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, rapid response utilization
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; at least one prior travel contract required
- Compact RN license, valid and in hand at time of submission
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- 2 professional references covering the past 3 years
