Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN — Travel Contract

Lubbock, TX | Days 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13 Weeks

This is a day-shift Med/Surg Telemetry travel position caring for adult and geriatric patients in a short-term acute care setting. Candidates must be experienced travelers with at least one prior travel contract completed.

Shift & Schedule

• Three 12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:00)
• Every other weekend required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
• 40-hour orientation; all RTO must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
• Holiday commitment required: must work 3 of 5 designated holidays

Unit & Patient Care

• General Med/Surg Telemetry unit serving adults and geriatric patients
• Float requirement: candidates should be prepared to float to other acute care units within the facility, as well as potentially to nearby sister facilities
• Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Radiology

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Required Clinical Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Blood product administration, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols
• Central line and PICC line care, peripheral IV placement
• High-flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration
• PCA management, feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac
• Phlebotomy, isolation precautions, rapid response/code team utilization

Dress Code

• Licensed nursing staff: solid navy blue scrubs (piping accents permitted; no print tops)

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Active compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
