Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN — Travel Contract
Lubbock, TX | Days 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13 Weeks
This is a day-shift Med/Surg Telemetry travel position caring for adult and geriatric patients in a short-term acute care setting. Candidates must be experienced travelers with at least one prior travel contract completed.
Shift & Schedule
- Three 12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:00)
- Every other weekend required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
- 40-hour orientation; all RTO must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
- Holiday commitment required: must work 3 of 5 designated holidays
Unit & Patient Care
- General Med/Surg Telemetry unit serving adults and geriatric patients
- Float requirement: candidates should be prepared to float to other acute care units within the facility, as well as potentially to nearby sister facilities
- Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Radiology
Required Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Required Clinical Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Blood product administration, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols
- Central line and PICC line care, peripheral IV placement
- High-flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration
- PCA management, feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac
- Phlebotomy, isolation precautions, rapid response/code team utilization
Dress Code
- Licensed nursing staff: solid navy blue scrubs (piping accents permitted; no print tops)
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry experience
- Active compact RN license in hand at time of submission
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
