Occupational Health Nurse (RN)
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to join the Caregiver Health Services team. This is a full-time, day-shift role (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM) focused on delivering clinical occupational and environmental health services to support caregiver safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-employment health screenings and collaborate with Human Resources and Disability Management on accommodations
- Manage occupational health surveillance programs (tuberculosis, hazardous drug exposure, lead, hearing conservation, and others per regulatory requirement)
- Administer vaccinations in alignment with facility policy
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee health records
- Assess and provide clinical guidance for caregivers with infectious disease exposure or communicable disease concerns
- Manage bloodborne pathogen and body fluid exposures following facility protocol
- Identify trends in occupational incidents and recommend prevention/mitigation measures
- Participate in committees and huddles to share occupational health data and promote caregiver wellness
- Travel to nearby facility locations to provide on-site services as directed
- Support supply management and equipment functionality
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license (compact license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, OSHA, CDC, local health department standards)
- Strong accuracy, time management, and priority-setting skills
- Service-oriented approach and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn new electronic health record systems
Contract Details
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Start Date: September 28, 2026 (preferred); no later than October 5, 2026
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (no weekends or call)
- Availability: Must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Location: Local and traveling candidates welcome within 50-mile radius
