Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Adult) | Rochester, NY | 13-Week Contract

This busy adult/geriatric emergency department manages the full spectrum of emergency diagnoses, including stroke and neuro-trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, ortho trauma, gunshot wounds, drug overdose, acute psychosis, and STEMI presentations. The unit features a dedicated pediatric ED area and a trauma suite for immediate stabilization of critical patients.

Shift & Schedule

4x12-hour rotating shifts (Days: 07:00–19:00 / Nights: 19:00–07:00)
Every other weekend required
Every other holiday, as needed
Start date: September 29, 2026

Clinical Requirements

Minimum 1 year of ED experience
Active New York State RN license required (NY is not compact; no pending licenses accepted)
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (must be valid at time of submission)
Preferred: PALS, TNCC

Key Clinical Skills

IV therapy: blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV vasopressors
CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
Cardiac monitoring: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Stroke/CVA, neuro-trauma, and TBI care
Procedural sedation, , and isolation precautions
Management of violent or suicidal patients

Unit Details

Patient ratio: 1:5 (adults and geriatrics)
Floating within skillset required
Scrub color: Navy blue and white combination
Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
