Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Location: Louisville, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend required

Duration: 14 weeks

About the Role

Join the telemetry unit at the facility as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. You'll monitor patients with cardiac and other acute conditions, interpret rhythms, manage cardiac medications, and respond to rapid changes in patient status. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team including cardiologists and physicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and assess patients with cardiac and acute conditions
• Interpret cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and escalate care as appropriate
• Administer medications including cardiac drips and antiarrhythmics per orders
• Respond promptly to patient condition changes and code interventions
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to develop and implement plans of care
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment, and lifestyle modifications
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Ensure compliance with infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1+ years of telemetry experience
• Demonstrated competency in EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm monitoring
• Experience managing cardiac medications and monitoring for medication effects
