Medical-Surgical Nursing – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for a 12-hour night shift position on a medical-surgical unit with a focus on stroke care. You'll work in a dynamic acute-care setting managing a diverse patient population with an average daily census of 26–28 patients.

Unit Details

This unit specializes in medical-surgical patients, with a particular emphasis on acute stroke care. You'll encounter a range of conditions including COPD, ia, abdominal pain, and occasional surgical overflow cases. Experience with the NIHSS assessment tool and familiarity with post-acute stroke management (including post-tPA care) is a plus.

Schedule & Assignment

• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Days: Weekends as scheduled
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Patient Ratio: 1:5–6

Requirements

• Current RN license (willing to wait for temporary/expedited licensing)
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Valid driver's license required at time of submission

Additional Notes

Travel nursing experience is highly preferred. Flexibility to support unit needs is essential. The facility allows 2 shift cancellations per 13-week assignment.
