Labor and Delivery RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week contract, working nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll join a collaborative L&D team providing comprehensive care across labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum periods.
Unit Details
The night shift team includes 4 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse Clinician, 1 Transition RN, 1 Unit Secretary, and 1 Clinical Support Technician. Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 2:1 depending on acuity and phase of labor.
Scope of Practice
You'll manage laboring patients through vaginal delivery and cesarean sections, providing immediate postpartum and newborn care. The unit handles uncomplicated and higher-acuity deliveries with full OR access on-site.
Requirements
- Current RN license (Texas)
- ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required
- Strong experience in transition, postpartum care, and newborn management
- Charge experience preferred
Scheduling
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation
- Flexible, team-oriented approach essential
Dress Code
Royal blue scrubs
Float Responsibility
May float to Mother/Baby unit as needed.
