Oncology Infusion RN
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its outpatient oncology infusion unit. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment in a Monday–Friday schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biotherapy per physician orders and established safety protocols
- Perform comprehensive pre-, during, and post-treatment assessments, monitoring closely for adverse reactions and side effects
- Initiate and manage vascular access, including peripheral IVs, PICC lines, and implanted ports
- Manage treatment-related symptoms such as nausea, pain, fatigue, and neutropenia
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care strategies
- Provide emotional support to patients and families throughout their cancer journey
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary team on individualized care plans
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
- Follow safe handling protocols for hazardous drugs per OSHA/USP <800> guidelines
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license (state or compact)
- ADN/ASN minimum; BSN preferred
- BLS certification required
- ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification required
- 1+ years of oncology nursing experience
- Strong IV access and vascular assessment skills
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) preferred
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- 13-week contract
- Start date: October 2, 2026
