Oncology Infusion RN

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its outpatient oncology infusion unit. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment in a Monday–Friday schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biotherapy per physician orders and established safety protocols
  • Perform comprehensive pre-, during, and post-treatment assessments, monitoring closely for adverse reactions and side effects
  • Initiate and manage vascular access, including peripheral IVs, PICC lines, and implanted ports
  • Manage treatment-related symptoms such as nausea, pain, fatigue, and neutropenia
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care strategies
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families throughout their cancer journey
  • Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary team on individualized care plans
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
  • Follow safe handling protocols for hazardous drugs per OSHA/USP <800> guidelines

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license (state or compact)
  • ADN/ASN minimum; BSN preferred
  • BLS certification required
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification required
  • 1+ years of oncology nursing experience
  • Strong IV access and vascular assessment skills
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) preferred

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • 13-week contract
  • Start date: October 2, 2026
