Registered Nurse – LDRP

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (weekends as needed)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 5, 2026

About the Role

The facility's Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit provides comprehensive care to mothers and newborns across the full continuum of birth—all within one unified patient room. You'll deliver holistic, evidence-based nursing care that prioritizes family-centered birthing experiences while managing high-acuity obstetric and postpartum conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and uterine contraction patterns; escalate concerns to the care team
  • Administer labor induction/augmentation medications and provide epidural support per physician orders
  • Support vaginal deliveries and assist with immediate postdelivery recovery care
  • Perform comprehensive maternal and newborn assessments as part of couplet care
  • Manage high-risk obstetric and postpartum conditions with appropriate emergency interventions
  • Educate mothers on breastfeeding, infant care, and bonding
  • Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and pediatric teams
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation
  • Provide continuity of care by following patients throughout their hospital stay

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted RN license (or compact license as applicable)
  • ADN or ASN; BSN preferred
  • BLS, ACLS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Minimum 1+ year of L&D/LDRP nursing experience
  • Demonstrated competency with fetal monitoring, deliveries, and postpartum/couplet care
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaborative skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification
