REGISTERED NURSE – MEDICAL-SURGICAL / TELEMETRY

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 5, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking a compassionate and clinically competent RN to join its Medical-Surgical / Telemetry unit. You'll provide direct patient care to adults with a range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions, applying evidence-based nursing practice and the full nursing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, identifying risk factors and prioritizing care needs
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and pain control
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Support infection control and fall prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (compact license accepted)
• 1+ years of Medical-Surgical or Telemetry nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• ADN or ASN; BSN preferred
