Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical Telemetry

Shift: 3rd shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week

About the Role
Join the facility's med-surg telemetry unit, where you'll deliver comprehensive care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. This is a fast-paced environment requiring sharp clinical judgment, strong communication, and the ability to work autonomously within the scope of professional nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans using the nursing process
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, treatments, and cardiac drips per physician orders
- Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and pain control
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and nursing staff
- Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record
- Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
- Typically manage 4–6 patients per shift; patient load varies by acuity
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification required
- Minimum 1+ years of med-surg or telemetry nursing experience
- Demonstrated competency in telemetry/EKG interpretation
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
