Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled RN to join its medical-surgical and telemetry unit. You'll deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Shift & Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Weekend and holiday work required

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, responding promptly to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and pain control
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care plans and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (state or compact)
• 1+ years of medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• BLS and ACLS certification
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
