Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 5, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking a compassionate, clinically skilled RN to join the medical-surgical/telemetry unit. You'll provide direct patient care to adults with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a collaborative, evidence-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized plans of care using the nursing process
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips, per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and pain control
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient/family education on conditions, medications, and self-care
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (or compact license) in Kentucky
• ADN or ASN; BSN preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 1+ years of medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and work independently
