Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP)

About the Role
The facility's LDRP unit provides comprehensive maternity care across the full continuum—labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care—in a single room setting. You'll deliver evidence-based, family-centered nursing care to mothers and newborns, maintaining continuity throughout each patient's hospital stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor fetal heart rate patterns and uterine contractions; escalate concerns promptly
- Provide direct care during labor, vaginal deliveries, and immediate postpartum recovery
- Administer labor medications (induction/augmentation agents, epidural support) per physician orders
- Perform maternal and newborn assessments as part of couplet care; manage high-risk OB and postpartum conditions
- Support breastfeeding and family education; facilitate bonding and infant care instruction
- Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and pediatric teams on individualized care plans
- Document labor, delivery, and postpartum care accurately in the medical record
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Minimum 1+ years of L&D/LDRP experience
- ADN or ASN; BSN preferred
Preferred Certifications
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification
