Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. You will provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with a range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Schedule

• 3rd shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts)
• Weekends and holidays required
• 13-week contract
• Start date: October 5, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips as ordered
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS certification required; ACLS required
• 1+ years of Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• ADN or ASN minimum (BSN preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
