Float Pool RN – PM Shift

Location: Birmingham, AL

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 16 weeks

Start Date: September 28, 2026

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced RN for a float pool assignment covering medical/surgical and step-down units. You'll rotate across multiple clinical areas, providing flexibility and broad nursing experience in a dynamic hospital environment.

Requirements

• Current RN license (active and unrestricted)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• BLS certification (AHA)
• ACLS certification (AHA) if required for your clinical area
• Ability to float between med/surg and step-down units
• Comfort with variable patient populations and acuity levels

What to Expect

As a float pool nurse, you'll work primarily evenings on a rotating basis, supporting multiple units based on daily census and staffing needs. This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy variety in their clinical practice. Weekend and call responsibilities are standard for float pool assignments.
