Medical-Surgical Nurse – 16-Week Contract

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

About the Role

Join the facility's medical-surgical unit as a travel RN. You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses across a range of acuity levels. This is a dynamic environment where you'll manage pre- and post-operative patients, coordinate care for those with chronic conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory), and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team on discharge planning and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Manage wound care and pain management for post-operative patients
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• Minimum 2 years medical-surgical nursing experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• CMSRN certification preferred
• Ability to work a night shift schedule
• Travel assignment flexibility
