Emergency Department RN – Night Shift | Long Beach, CA
13-Week Contract | Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12-Hour Shifts
This high-volume Emergency Department serves patients across all age groups — neonates through geriatrics — in a fast-paced, acuity-rich environment. The unit sees approximately 310 visits per day and manages a broad spectrum of emergencies including stroke, neuro-trauma, STEMI, orthopedic trauma, and pediatric emergencies.
Shift & Scheduling
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12s)
- Weekends required per department needs
- No on-call required
- Float within the hospital based on census
Required Experience
- Minimum 2.5 years of RN experience in a high-volume Emergency Department (90,000+ annual visits)
- Level II trauma center experience required — this is a hard stop
- First-time travelers accepted with qualifying experience
Required Certifications
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
- TNCC preferred
Key Clinical Skills
- Arterial line and central line management
- Ventilator and BiPAP/CPAP management
- IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation
- Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Blood product administration
- , phlebotomy, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- CVA, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury care
Additional Details
- Orientation: 24 hours (includes non-billable module completion)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- California RN license in hand required prior to submission
- One reference required within the past two years
- No holiday RTO guaranteed; all RTO must be submitted at time of application
