Cardiac Specialty Unit | Progressive Stepdown | Overland Park, KS

This is a 13-week travel assignment on a brand-new Cardiac Progressive Stepdown unit in Overland Park, KS. The unit manages intermediate-acuity cardiac patients, including those recovering from cardiac procedures, with a focus on close monitoring and IV medication management.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Self-scheduling
• Weekend commitment: 3 shifts per 4-week period (days)
• No on-call requirements

Clinical Scope

• Continuous telemetry monitoring
• Titration of IV cardiac medications, heparin, and insulin drips
• Post-procedure cardiac patient management
• Support team includes Charge Nurse, PCT, and Unit Secretary

Float Requirements

• May float to Telemetry, Medical/Surgical, or Outpatient Surgery

Required Experience & Skills

• Telemetry experience required
• Background managing post-procedure cardiac patients strongly preferred

Certifications

• No unit-specific certifications required beyond current licensure

Dress Code

• Royal blue top, black pants
