Emergency Department Nurse – Asheville, NC

Position Overview

Join a high-volume emergency department as a Travel Nurse for a 13-week contract.About the Unit

This emergency department is part of a facility recognized for clinical excellence and trauma care. You'll manage a mix of medical, surgical, and behavioral health patients in a fast-paced environment. The team is known for strong collaboration and welcoming new members. Typical patient ratios are 4:1 (up to 7:1 during ED behavioral holds).

What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care across all ED sections
• Participate in a high-volume operation (approximately 100,000 visits annually)
• Apply AIDET principles and maintain a strong patient experience focus
• Work alongside ED techs, unit clerks, and clinical staff
• Float flexibly within the ED as needed

You'll Bring

• 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an emergency setting
• Experience in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center environment
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to give real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work every other weekend; unable to commit to block scheduling

Required Certifications (Before Start)

ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS

ENPC required within 90 days
