Emergency Department RN — Asheville, NC

13-Week Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend

This busy Emergency Department serves a richly diverse, multicultural community and is well-regarded for its strong team culture and welcoming environment. The department manages a high volume of patients across a broad acuity range, including behavioral health holds and time-sensitive neurological cases.

Unit Overview

High-volume ED with exposure to complex medical, trauma, and stroke presentations
Techs support cardiac monitoring and internal processing areas; unit clerks on all shifts
Floating within the ED (to all sections) is required; no floating outside the department

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an ED setting
Experience in a high-volume ED strongly preferred
Teamwork-oriented with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
Flexibility to work all areas within the department

Required Certifications (prior to start date)

ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
ENPC (within 90 days of hire)

Additional Details

Shift: Nights | Every other weekend required
No block scheduling; scheduling aligns with department needs
Dress code: Navy scrubs
Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
Patient experience standards: AIDET framework, real-time board updates, consistent patient communication throughout each visit
