Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 14 weeks

About the Role

Join the facility's Mother Baby unit to provide comprehensive couplet care to postpartum mothers and newborns. You'll support families during the critical early postpartum period, delivering evidence-based nursing care focused on maternal recovery, newborn assessment, and family education.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor maternal recovery, including fundal checks, lochia, incision/perineal care, and vital signs
• Perform newborn assessments, including vital signs, feeding evaluation, and screening tests
• Provide education on breastfeeding, infant care, safety, and discharge instructions
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders for mother and baby
• Monitor for postpartum complications (hemorrhage, infection, preeclampsia) and escalate as needed
• Collaborate with OB physicians, pediatricians, and the interdisciplinary team
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR
• Support emotional well-being and facilitate family bonding during the transition to parenthood

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• Minimum 1 year of mother baby/postpartum nursing experience
• BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• ADN or BSN

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• RNC-MNN (Maternal Newborn Nursing) certification

Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
