Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three shifts per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 5, 2026

About the Role

The facility's medical-surgical telemetry unit cares for adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care centered on evidence-based practice, clinical assessment, and patient-centered compassion.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans using the nursing process
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members on care coordination and discharge planning
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Oversee delegated tasks and monitor care provided by team members
• Support unit-based quality improvement activities and safety protocols (fall prevention, infection control, pressure ulcer prevention)
• Actively participate in creating a positive, healing environment

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• ADN or ASN; BSN preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1+ years of medical-surgical telemetry experience
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry and EKG interpretation
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed
