Labor & Delivery Nurse

Position Overview

You will provide comprehensive nursing care to childbearing women, neonates, and families in a labor and delivery setting. You'll assess patients, develop individualized care plans, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate outcomes. Your role includes patient education, family support, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes for mothers and infants.

Shift & Schedule

  • Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • 13-week contract
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Current Pennsylvania RN license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – Healthcare Provider level
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess childbearing women (adolescence through adulthood) and neonates; perform initial stabilization
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on physical and learning needs
  • Provide patient and family education on self-care and newborn care
  • Support family bonding and healthy interaction patterns
  • Identify and advocate for at-risk patients and families; coordinate referrals and support services
  • Maintain a safe, hazard-free environment
  • Stay current with best practices and professional standards
