Medical-Surgical RN — Travel Contract | Wheeling, WV

Shift: 12-hour days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

About the Unit

This acute care Medical-Surgical unit manages a diverse medical and surgical patient population. Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, ia, urosepsis, AKI, cellulitis, and rule-out presentations for cholecystitis and appendicitis. The unit uses remote telemetry monitoring supported by dedicated monitor technicians, and PCTs are present to assist with patient care.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results
• Manage patients on intermittent BIPAP (no ventilator management required)
• Work alongside one charge RN who carries a patient assignment

Scheduling & Expectations

• Weekends scheduled as needed — typically half of total weekends per contract
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Travelers float first based on census needs
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Requirements

• Active RN license (West Virginia or compact)
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certification required
• Must reside or be willing to comply with a 50-mile radius rule
• Valid, unexpired driver's license required at submission
• Any licensing history (hits) must be disclosed at time of submission
• BSN not required
