Travel Nurse — Med/Surg Float
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a float nurse to work across multiple med/surg units in the Wichita market. You'll be called in for each scheduled shift and assigned to the unit with the highest need, which may include different campuses.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (nights)
- Pattern: 4 x 12 (every other weekend required)
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 per week
- Start Date: August 30, 2026
Clinical Scope
You'll provide direct patient care on med/surg units, managing patient assessments, medications, treatments, and documentation. Float assignments mean variety across different patient populations and unit types — a great fit if you're flexible and thrive in dynamic environments.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered RN license
- Valid driver's license or state ID
- All standard health screenings and immunizations (MMR, Tdap, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, TB testing, Fit Test)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Professional references
- Willingness to work rotating weekends and adapt to unit assignments
Onboarding
You'll complete facility-specific competencies, EKG certification, skills checklist, and charting system training prior to your first shift. The facility uses an electronic health record system for all documentation.
