Medical-Surgical Nursing – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in a medical-surgical unit serving adult and geriatric patients. You'll work 3x12-hour nights (18:45–07:15) with every-other-weekend coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to a typical census of 15–20 patients with a ratio of approximately 6 patients per nurse
• Manage medications via Omnicell system
• Perform central line care, PICC line management, and peripheral IV insertion and maintenance
• Provide specialized care including colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, blood product administration, and port access
• Monitor telemetry and manage patients post-operative from procedures including orthopedic surgery, bariatric surgery, and total joint replacement
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response

Required Qualifications

• Active Tennessee RN license (or compact/multistate license)
• Minimum 1 year recent experience in medical-surgical or related specialty
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not considered

Additional Information

• Floating to other units based on clinical competency and facility census needs
• Pre-assignment testing and required modules must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Orientation begins every Monday
• Two weeks of pre-approved time off available during contract period
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
