Endoscopy
Endoscopy RN — Travel Contract | Rochester, NY
This 8-week contract places you in a procedural endoscopy unit managing adults and geriatric patients with diagnoses including pancreatic, lung, colon, and gastric cancers, polyps, Barrett's esophagus, and common bile duct stones, strictures, and malignancies.
Shift & Schedule
- 4 x 10-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Day off varies weekly based on department needs; Monday/Friday days off cannot be guaranteed
- On-call required: approximately 4–6 shifts per month covering weeknights, weekends, and holidays
Clinical Scope
Procedures performed in this unit include EUS, ERCP, Navigational Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Manometry, and Fibroscan. RNs are expected to administer and recover patients from conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care, manage airways, interpret dysrhythmias, and handle specimen labeling.
Float
Floating to Pre-Anesthesia and PACU may be required as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in endoscopy
- ACLS and BLS required; CGRN preferred
- Phlebotomy competency and IV placement are mandatory skills
- Active New York state RN license required prior to submission
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
- Electronic health record experience required
