ICU Registered Nurse — Travel Contract | Night Shift | New York
This opportunity is for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join an adult intensive care unit in New York on a 17-week travel contract.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3×12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
Contract Details
- Duration: 17 weeks
- Start Date: Late September 2026
- Valid NY RN license must be in hand at time of submission
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
Required Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Charge RN experience highly preferred
- Prior travel experience required
- First-time travelers may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Clinical Scope
The unit manages adult ICU patients requiring high-acuity medical and surgical care. Key clinical skills include:
- Arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
- Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips
- Continuous IV sedation and neuromuscular blockade
- IV insulin protocols
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Blood product administration
- Procedural sedation monitoring
- Thermoregulation (hypothermia/hyperthermia protocols)
- 12-lead ECG acquisition and phlebotomy
Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and interpretation services.
Additional Notes
- Pre-start orientation modules required; some hours are billable
- Maximum of 10 days of pre-approved time off permitted per contract
- Background review conducted on a case-by-case basis
