Registered Nurse

Emergency Room RN — Night Shift | Rochester, NY | 15-Week Contract

This opportunity is in a fast-paced adult/geriatric emergency department managing the full spectrum of emergency diagnoses, including stroke (CVA), neuro-trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, ortho trauma, gunshot wounds, and acute psychiatric presentations.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3×12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Contract length: 15 weeks | Start: September 29, 2026

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Active New York Single State RN license (NY is not Compact; must be in hand at submission)
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (valid NIHSS must be included at submittal)
• PALS and TNCC preferred

Required Clinical Skills

• IV therapy: blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting/maintaining IVs
• IV vasopressors; continuous IV sedation
• CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
• Cardiac monitoring: dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• , isolation precautions, procedural sedation monitoring
• Management of acute psychosis, suicidal patients, and violent behavior
• Pediatric spinal cord injury experience a plus

Unit Details

• Patient population: adults and geriatrics
• Ratios: 1:5 (days, nights, and weekends)
• Float required within skillset
• Scrub color: any combination of navy blue and white
• Minimum 1–2 years of ED experience required

Additional Notes

• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of submittal; maximum 10 days
• COVID-19 vaccine: not required
