Med/Surg Travel Nurse – Night Shift | Saratoga Springs, NY
This 13-week travel nursing assignment places you on a busy Medical-Surgical unit caring for adults and geriatric patients. The unit sees a high volume of pulmonary patients alongside those with infectious diagnoses, oncology needs, surgical recovery, and end-of-life care. Telemetry is monitored remotely from a central location.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekend coverage required
- Float within scope of practice at manager's discretion
Patient Population
- Adults and geriatrics
- Primary diagnoses: pulmonary conditions, infections, oncology, post-surgical, and palliative/end-of-life care
Interdisciplinary Support
Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Phlebotomy, and unit secretarial support
Requirements
- Active New York State RN license (required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred; candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions must be submitted at least 2 weeks before start date)
Pre-Start Compliance
- Relias EKG exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing, with a passing score of 100%
- All required online modules must be completed by 7:00 AM on the Wednesday prior to your orientation start date
- Orientation: approximately 36 hours
