Medical-Surgical RN — Travel Contract | Saratoga Springs, NY

Shift: Nights | 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 19, 2026

This Med-Surg unit cares for an adult and geriatric patient population with a daily census of approximately 20 patients. Nurses manage a broad range of medical-surgical diagnoses and are expected to handle moderate-to-high acuity needs with competency across a wide skill set.

Clinical Skills Required:

• Port access and management
• Blood product administration
• Central line blood draws and PICC line management
• Peripheral IV insertion and maintenance
• Heparin and insulin administration
• Feeding tube care and management
• Colostomy/ileostomy care
• Wound care and wound VAC management
• Total joint replacement care
• Isolation precautions/PPE
• Phlebotomy and nasal cannula management

Requirements:

• Active New York State RN license (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of acute hospital Med-Surg experience
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Willingness to float within the facility based on skill set

Additional Details:

• Orientation: 36 hours
• No call required; weekend coverage expected
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; candidates with a permanent address in select surrounding counties are not eligible
• EKG competency exam required within 72 hours of signing; onsite passing threshold applies
• Pre-start online modules required (approximately 12–15 hours); must be completed by 7:00 AM the Wednesday prior to start date
