Emergency Department RN – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week contract. This is an ideal role for a travel nurse with solid ER foundation and trauma experience.

Shift & Schedule

  • Night shift: 3 × 12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Weekends: 6 per 6-week cycle (required)
  • No on-call or floating between units
  • Block scheduling approved but not required

Clinical Environment

You'll work in a busy emergency department serving adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The unit manages a diverse patient population including stroke, STEMI, chest pain, trauma, shortness of breath, and acute abdominal presentations. The department operates as a comprehensive stroke center and Level II trauma facility.

Patient Care

  • Patient ratio: 1:3
  • Support: Respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience (hard requirement)
  • Current state RN license (compact license required at submission)
  • ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC certifications
  • Proficiency with BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, central line management, dysrhythmia recognition, and IV vasopressors

Uniform

Solid navy blue scrubs or uniforms for nursing staff.
