Emergency Department RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week contract. This is an ideal role for a travel nurse with solid ER foundation and trauma experience.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 3 × 12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Weekends: 6 per 6-week cycle (required)
- No on-call or floating between units
- Block scheduling approved but not required
Clinical Environment
You'll work in a busy emergency department serving adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The unit manages a diverse patient population including stroke, STEMI, chest pain, trauma, shortness of breath, and acute abdominal presentations. The department operates as a comprehensive stroke center and Level II trauma facility.
Patient Care
- Patient ratio: 1:3
- Support: Respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience (hard requirement)
- Current state RN license (compact license required at submission)
- ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC certifications
- Proficiency with BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, central line management, dysrhythmia recognition, and IV vasopressors
Uniform
Solid navy blue scrubs or uniforms for nursing staff.

- Orientation: 36 hours
