Emergency Room RN — Travel Contract
Lubbock, TX | Nights | 13 Weeks
This fast-paced Emergency Department manages a high-volume, diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics. The unit handles a broad acuity range with common presentations including stroke, STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, trauma, respiratory distress, and acute neurological complaints. The department functions as a comprehensive stroke and STEMI-receiving facility with active trauma services.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
- 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- Self-scheduling; block scheduling available but not required
- Must commit to 3 of 5 designated holidays
- All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of offer
Clinical Skills Required
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- Ventilated patient care
- Central line care and management
- IV vasopressor administration
- Dysrhythmia management
- , stroke protocols, and CVA management
- Isolation precautions/PPE
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ER RN experience *(hard stop — no exceptions)*
- Active compact RN license required at time of submission
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
- Community hospital experience required
- Charge experience preferred
Additional Details
- Dress code: Solid navy blue scrubs (no print tops)
- Orientation: 36 hours
- No on-call required
- Travelers may be asked to float to nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may affect guaranteed hours
