Emergency Room RN — Travel Contract

Lubbock, TX | Nights | 13 Weeks

This fast-paced Emergency Department manages a high-volume, diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics. The unit handles a broad acuity range with common presentations including stroke, STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, trauma, respiratory distress, and acute neurological complaints. The department functions as a comprehensive stroke and STEMI-receiving facility with active trauma services.

Shift & Schedule

  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
  • 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
  • Self-scheduling; block scheduling available but not required
  • Must commit to 3 of 5 designated holidays
  • All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of offer

Clinical Skills Required

  • BiPAP/CPAP management
  • Ventilated patient care
  • Central line care and management
  • IV vasopressor administration
  • Dysrhythmia management
  • , stroke protocols, and CVA management
  • Isolation precautions/PPE

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of ER RN experience *(hard stop — no exceptions)*
  • Active compact RN license required at time of submission
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Charge experience preferred

Additional Details

  • Dress code: Solid navy blue scrubs (no print tops)
  • Orientation: 36 hours
  • No on-call required
  • Travelers may be asked to float to nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may affect guaranteed hours
