Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract

Lubbock, TX | Nights | 13 Weeks

This acute care facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift contract. The ED manages a broad, high-acuity patient population spanning adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics, with a strong focus on stroke, STEMI, trauma, and critical care presentations.

Shift & Schedule

  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3×12-hour shifts
  • 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period required
  • Self-scheduling; block schedules approved but not required
  • Must be available to work 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Clinical Scope

The unit sees patients presenting with stroke, STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, trauma, respiratory distress, abdominal pain, and more. Clinicians should be comfortable with , BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, central line care, IV vasopressor administration, dysrhythmia management, and stroke protocols.

Required Certifications

ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience *(hard stop — no exceptions)*
  • Active compact RN license required at time of submission
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Charge RN experience preferred

Dress Code

Solid navy blue scrubs for licensed nursing personnel.

  • No floating between units at this facility
  • Candidates living within 50 miles may be considered at a local rate
  • 2 professional references required covering the past 3 years
  • 36-hour orientation
