Advanced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Cardiac Stepdown
Position Overview
Join the cardiac stepdown unit for a 13-week assignment. You'll work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), three 12-hour shifts per week. Flexible start dates available every Monday.
Unit Description
This advanced PCU operates with ICU-level clinical complexity, specializing in 24-hour post-CABG cardiac surgery patients. You'll manage patients with chest tubes, and LVAD experience is valuable (training provided if needed). The unit does not manage ventilated patients.
Requirements
- Active Georgia or compact nursing license
- Current ACLS certification
- Minimum 18 months specialty experience within the past 3 years
- Ventilator experience is not required
- Navy blue scrubs
Important Notes
You'll complete a proctored rhythm identification test upon hire (two attempts to pass; not multiple-choice). This is a clinical competency requirement for the role.
Assignment Details
- 36 hours per week
- 90 guaranteed hours
- 50-mile radius (no local travel arrangement accepted)
- Every Monday start dates available
