Medical-Surgical RN – 13 Week Assignment
Position Overview
Join the facility's progressive care unit for a 13-week assignment managing patients with complex cardiac and critical conditions. This role requires strong assessment skills, comfort with vasoactive medications, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (AM shift)
- Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Start Date: Every Monday
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Clinical Focus
You'll care for patients with congestive heart failure, congenital heart conditions, dysrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease, cardiogenic shock, and chest pain. Common procedures include angioplasty and management of left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) and heart transplant patients. You'll administer vasoactive drips (Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Cardizem, Milrinone), diuretics, Heparin, and insulin drips. Peritoneal dialysis experience is required.
Requirements
- Valid Georgia or compact license
- Minimum 18 months specialty experience within the past 3 years
- Peritoneal dialysis and insulin drip experience
- Proctored rhythm identification test upon start (two attempts; not multiple choice)
- Navy blue scrubs
- Willing to travel within 50-mile radius
