Medical-Surgical Progressive Care Unit – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical nurse for its progressive care unit. You'll care for complex cardiac and post-operative patients requiring close monitoring and skilled intervention.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 3 × 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours)
• 13-week contract
• Start date: Every Monday

Clinical Scope

This unit manages patients with congestive heart failure, congenital heart disease, left ventricular assist devices (LVADs), dysrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease, cardiogenic shock, and those recovering from angioplasty and heart transplant procedures. You'll administer vasoactive drips (Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Cardizem, Milrinone), manage diuretics, heparin, and insulin protocols, and provide peritoneal dialysis care.

Requirements

• Current Georgia or compact nursing license (in hand at start)
• 18+ months of specialty nursing experience within the past 3 years
• Peritoneal dialysis and insulin drip experience required
• Rhythm identification test (proctored) required upon hire; two attempts allowed
• Navy blue scrubs
