Medical-Surgical Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking experienced Medical-Surgical nurses for a 13-week contract in Springfield, TN. You'll work the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) on a medical-surgical unit caring for post-operative and general medical patients.

Unit Details

This medical-surgical unit manages a diverse patient population, including post-operative patients with a focus on orthopedic cases. You'll provide care including blood transfusions, IV maintenance, and central line management. Unit secretaries are available during the day, and technicians support all shifts.

Schedule & Staffing

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Schedule: 3 days per week with every other weekend
• Floating: You will float between the two med-surg floors as needed
• Patient ratio: 5:1

Requirements

• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Medical-surgical nursing experience essential
• Solid experience with post-operative patients, particularly orthopedic cases
• Valid RN license

Compassionate, detail-oriented nurses who thrive in a fast-paced med-surg environment and are comfortable floating between units. Strong assessment skills and the ability to manage post-op complications are essential.
