Stepdown

Stepdown / Med-Surg RN — Travel Contract | Fairmont, WV

This 13-week night-shift contract places you in a Stepdown/Med-Surg unit caring for patients with respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, acute kidney injury, and chest pain. The unit operates at stepdown and floor acuity levels, with strong respiratory therapy support including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Rotating holidays (evening or day)
• No call or standby requirement
• No floating required

Clinical Details

• RNs are responsible for titrating drips, including heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
• Telemetry monitoring in place; RNs read their own strips
• Two nurse aides per shift provide support
• House Supervisor available for escalation

Requirements

• Active RN license (must be submitted prior to start)
• Minimum 1–2 years of stepdown experience required
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) required
• Must reside or be willing to comply with a 50-mile radius rule
• Copy of unexpired driver's license required at submission
• Any licensing disclosures must be reported at time of submission
• BSN not required
