Cardiothoracic ICU Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility's cardiothoracic ICU is seeking an experienced critical care nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll provide direct care to post-cardiac and post-thoracic surgery patients in a specialized ICU setting.

Shift & Schedule

7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, four 12-hour nights per week
48 guaranteed hours weekly
Start date: October 18, 2026

Clinical Scope

You'll assess and monitor high-acuity cardiothoracic patients, manage complex hemodynamic support, interpret cardiac rhythms, and collaborate with surgeons, cardiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient recovery.

Requirements

Current RN license (verification via Nursys required)
Specialty certification or exam completion (Ascension Specialty Exam)
Proficiency with EKG interpretation
Completion of facility-specific competency assessments and orientation checklists

Onboarding

Standard pre-employment screening applies: background check, drug screen, immunization verification (COVID-19, MMR, Tdap, influenza, varicella, hepatitis B, TB clearance), and health documentation.
