Emergency Department Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Department nurse for a 16-week contract assignment in Wichita, KS. This is a fast-paced role caring for acutely ill and injured patients across the full spectrum of emergency medicine.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)
- Every other weekend required
- No call duties
- Ceil blue scrubs
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
Flexibility
You may be asked to float to similar units on the same campus or to another campus within Wichita as clinical needs dictate.
Required Credentials & Licenses
- Current RN license (verified through Nursys)
- License/Certificate Verification
- Ascension Core Competencies certification
- Ascension Specialty Exam (completed during onboarding)
- Ascension EKG Exam (completed during onboarding)
- Ascension Skills Checklist
Required Immunizations & Health Documentation
- COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Tdap, and Varicella vaccinations
- Two-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/QuantiFERON Gold)
- Negative chest X-ray (if applicable)
- Health statement and fit testing
- 12-panel drug screen
Additional Requirements
- Valid Driver's License/State ID
- Criminal background check clearance
- Professional references and employment verification
- EPLS and OFAC clearance
