OR Circulator – Surgical Services
Position Overview
The facility's surgical services department is seeking an experienced RN to work across three integrated areas: pre-op, operating room, and PACU. You will function as a primary caregiver, rotating through all three settings during your shift.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday
- Call Coverage: Rotational surgical call, averaging 1–2 days per week, plus every other weekend or every third weekend (depends on staffing)
- Occasional late days to complete high case loads
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed: 40 hours per week
Clinical Scope
You'll manage a diverse surgical schedule including general, OB/GYN, ophthalmology (cataract), and orthopedic cases. Responsibilities span:
- Pre-op assessments, patient education, and surgical prep
- Circulating surgical cases
- PACU recovery and post-operative monitoring
- Patient and family emotional support
- Central sterilization instrument processing
- Documentation and care coordination
Required Qualifications
- Current Colorado RN licensure
- ACLS certification
- Minimum 3 years combined experience in pre-op, OR, and PACU
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR certification
- Scrub experience
Special Considerations
- Ability to perform effectively under high-stress conditions
- Prolonged standing, walking, and heavy lifting
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious disease risk
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
