Intermediate Care / Step-Down RN — Night Shift | Bridgeport, WV

13-Week Contract | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 Hours Guaranteed/Week

This intermediate care unit manages moderate-to-high acuity step-down patients, including post-MI with sheath pull, post-op vascular, GI bleed, DKA, and ADHF. RNs are expected to manage telemetry independently — all patients are on continuous monitoring and RNs read their own strips.

Clinical Expectations

Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips is required (nitroglycerin, phenylephrine, and nicardipine)
BiPAP and CPAP respiratory support present on the unit
One PCT available per shift to support nursing staff
Charge nurse is available and does not carry a patient assignment under normal circumstances

Requirements

Active RN license
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Step-down or IMU experience required
BSN not required

Schedule & Logistics

12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Every other weekend required
Holiday rotation approximately every other
Float PRN as needed
No on-call or standby requirement
Cancellation policy: up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract
Dress code: Royal blue scrubs; undershirts in white, royal blue, or black
