Telemetry Nurse — 12-Hour Shifts
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced telemetry nurse to join its medical-surgical telemetry units on a 13-week contract. You'll work 12-hour PM and night shifts, rotating every other weekend and every other holiday.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients on continuous cardiac monitoring
- Read telemetry strips independently and communicate rhythm changes
- Float across five medical-surgical/telemetry units as needed
- Perform IV management and patient assessments
- Adapt quickly to different patient populations and unit protocols
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of recent acute care experience
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and independent strip interpretation
- Ability to pass a telemetry competency exam on Day 1 (84% or higher; 2 attempts allowed)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience with electronic health records
Preferred Experience
- 3–5 years of float pool or multi-unit experience
- Demonstrated adaptability in fast-paced environments
Schedule Details
- 12-hour shifts: PM and nights
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- Most Fridays will be scheduled
- No extended time off; no schedule requests accommodated
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Start date: September 21, 2026
